March Boxycharm {Unboxing}

This box was quite late…almost a month late, but I believe it was due to bad weather conditions mid March and this seemed to have caused a MAJOR delay in shipping. I wish Boxycharm addressed it sooner, but they did eventually send an email to update us.

Boxycharm must be one of the best things to happen to me! I get so excited when I receive this box, despite already knowing what’s in it. You cannot beat the value…I don’t even know how they do this…get us such top quality products for what we pay for it! If you want a run down of how boxycharm works and how to join, please check out my previous unboxing. Let’s dig in!

20170410_164247-01

The theme of the March box was ‘Creepy Cute’ and I’m not entirely sure why. I think most of us ‘Charmers’ were a little confused as it seems kind of halloween-ish, but nevertheless, I’m all about what’s in the box and not what the box is called.

20170410_164354-01

When I do the rand value estimate for the item, please know that it’s a ballpark figure, especially with the unstable rand at the moment.

Urban Rustic Palette by Naked Cosmetics (RSP $39,99/R550)

This was the item I was most excited to receive. I think these colours just scream AUTUMN and I mean, look at those swatches? I think the burnt orange is gorgeous. The shadows are so soft and the finger swipes were really pigmented. That’s one swipe. I think finger application with this palette will be the way to go, but I’ll try it with a brush as well.

20170410_165208-01

SS023 Deluxe Fan Brush by Crown Brush (RSP $18,99/R260)

The description card says this brush is great for highlighting, but many of the YouTubers were saying they thought this brush was too big for highlighting. One vlogger eventually had an aha moment and thought this was perfect for contouring or bronzing. I stroked this across my cheek and I feel like it would be really good for contouring, so that’s what I’ll attempt, seeing as I am no contouring guru by any stretch of the imagination.

20170410_165425-01

Photo Finish Primer by Smashbox (RSP $16,00/R220)

This is the OG of Smashbox’s primers and it claims to ‘instantly blurs fine lines and pores, leaving skin with a velvety-smooth, even finish.’ I’ve only used the primer water from Smashbox, so I’m really excited to see if this lives up to it’s claim. It’s oil free and promises to make me look 17…that’s the claim right? lol. I’ll report back. Note that this is a deluxe sample size. I’m guessing around 10 or 15mls. I see that 30mls retails for around R440 online.

20170410_164917-01

Matte Liquid Lipstick by RealHer (RSP $15,00/R210)

My lipstick came in the shade ‘I am a Rockstar‘.  I love the positive message that the brand creates with the shade names. While applying it, tell yourself… I am a freakin rockstar! This lipstick was really pigmented and I actually love the colour. The lipstick claims to be ‘long wearing and completely kiss proof, this bomb formulation helps to combat dryness and nourish your lips’.

There is a tip on the information card that says while wet, resist the urge to press lips together. I did not resist and I found the lipstick to be incredibly sticky. Unwearable it was so sticky. So I’ll resist next time and I hope it dries down. I think it will though as on my arm it dried down when I did a swatch.

20170410_165029-01.jpeg

Lipliner by RealHer (RSP $12,50/R175)

I got the shade ‘I am loved‘ which was a match to the lipstick, so I was happy about that. The lipliner is incredibly soft and creamy, BUT it broke as I pressed way too hard when I did the swatch. I believe that I can sharpen it, so I just need to check online.

20170410_165055-01

So the total value of my box was $102,48/R1428 and I paid around R290 and R120 for shipping with Aramex, bringing my cost to R410. I do not understand how Boxycharm does this. #MindBlown. No customs charges on my purchase.

What did you think of the items that I got? The April box contains an OFRA HIGHLIGHTER! To say I am excited is an understatement. Whoop!

March favourites!

20170407_114149-01.jpeg

Eeeekkk it’s been ages since I’ve done one of these posts, but I’ve really been loving the following products, so I just wanted to give them a well deserved shout out!

6009515589431

Nose Pore Strips (RSP R29,99)

After I took the combined favourite pictures, I couldn’t wait to use my last pore strip. I opened the pack and realised it was the charcoal one (as it says on the outside…Oi), so it’s the wrong pore strip in the top picture. Damn you cosmetic people for putting them all in shiny silver packaging! This charcoal one is great, but it has ripped my skin at the tips of my nostrils and it burns for a good 2 days thereafter. I’ve tried it about 3 times and each time is the same. So I discovered the Skin Strategy ones from Dischem (2nd picture above) and they are great. They work well, no ripping off of my skin or burning and they are the cheapest I’ve found! 10 strips for 30 bucks? Bargain of note! PS Am I the only one that is intrigued after using a pore strip? Every. Single. Time. Like I want to frame it….so gross I know. lol

Urban Decay Blackmail Vice Lipstick Palette (RSP R700)

This is literally my 4th child. Look at that colour selection ❤ Every single time I have done my makeup in the 2 months since receiving this, I have used it. This is one of the best purchases I have made makeup wise. I love mixing the colours and I find I’ve become bolder in terms of the colours I use on my lips. Usually I’m a nude lipstick kinda gal, but I’ve definitely been rocking pink and burgundy lips lately. Go me!

The brush it comes with is also excellent and offers precision for applying your lipstick. Also the mirror in this palette is amazing! I always wondered why YouTubers say: it has a good mirror. Now I know.

Okay, the bad news? This was a limited edition item, so I don’t think you can get it anymore. I am ETERNALLY grateful for an online friend that bought this when she spotted it as she knew how badly I wanted it and couriered it to PE for me. I paid for it, but I mean, it was a lot of effort on her part for somebody she’s never met ❤

Vichy Ideal Soleil Mattifying Corrective Care SPF 30 (RSP R285)

I recently wrote about 2 Vichy products here, where I confessed to having never used Vichy products before. This cream really impressed me as it’s non greasy, but provides hydration and has SPF 30 in it. I never wear anything with SPF on my face as I find it too greasy, but this is an ‘easy’ cream for my oily face. Also this mattifies the skin and I find it reduces the appearance of my pores.

The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel (RSP R170)

Last week I gushed about how fabulous this peel is, so it comes as no surprise that it’s included in my favourites and you can read more about it here.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Peach Kiss (RSP R47,95)

This is a tinted lipbalm, but I find it so moisurising on my lips and I love the subtle peach glossy sheen it provides to my lips. With some mascara and just this lipbalm, I feel like a million bucks 😉 I have about 3 of these floating around everywhere at home and in my bag.

20170402_122708-01

Vichy Normaderm Cleansing Mattifying Foam (RSP R190)

I was so happy with the Vichy products I was using, that I went out and bought 2 of these cleansers and another product at the current Clicks Autumn Beauty Fair. This cleanser foams so nicely! You just need half a pump, maybe even less if your face isn’t as huge as mine and you cleanse away. The foam doesn’t disappear which I love. You can see it and feel it on your skin. It mattifies my skin without leaving my skin feeling dry at all. I’ve noticed breakout spots don’t stay around for long since I’ve started using the Normaderm range. I am so glad I went with my gut and got 2 of these even though I hadn’t tried it before.

Rimmel Brow This Way Argan Brow Gel Clear (RSP R89,95)

I bought this literally the day before the 3 for 2 promo started at Clicks. That’s what happens when you sneakily buy makeup while your husband is in Spar. #Karma. So bummed when I miss a 3 for 2 promo. Moving on…..

This gel is really nice and I like that it’s infused with argan oil. My brows are not crunchy or hard, they stay in place, but they are natural looking. I also love the brush on the wand. It’s small and precise for easy application of gel onto your brows.

My only con on this would be that it’s a bit pricey for ‘drugstore’ considering it’s only 5mls of product, vs half the price for 8.5mls of another brand. I’ll see how long it lasts me and then I’ll decide if it’s a deal breaker for a repurchase. These come in a few shade options as well.

That’s it for my March favourites! Have you tried any of these? What have you been loving lately in terms of skin care or makeup products?

{Review} LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Illuminating Foundation

Was that  a mouthful or what? Yikes.

So this foundation really doesn’t need much of an introduction. LA Girl has a cult following and us SA girls were beyond excited when we found out it’d hit our shores mid February 2017.

WhatsApp Image 2017-03-07 at 8.36.22 AM

I’m fairly okay with matching my own foundation now, so I popped in to Dischem and saw all of the testers. What’s great is that there is a huge selection of shades, around 16 shades I think. I tried 2 and thought that the shade ‘Warm Beige’ was a good match for me.

What does it claim?

  • It’s ideal for a flawless looking, full coverage finish.
  • Lightweight formula is comfortable for all day wear.
  • Paraben free formula with added anti-oxidants helps hydrate and improve the skin’s appearance.
  • An innovative white foundation mixer to adjust and customize color.

So it is any good?

It applies really nicely onto the skin. I have used a brush and a damp beauty sponge. Both times my skin has had a dewy look to it, very healthy and natural. I’m not a full coverage kind of gal, so I prefer the more sheer look I get with a damp beauty sponge and I also only apply one layer of foundation. Personally I’d say this gives a medium coverage, though I’m sure it’s buildable.

The formula is incredibly lightweight and it feels like there’s nothing on my skin. Gone are the days of having your face feeling like there are layers upon layers of foundation on your skin!

Does it last all day? Firstly I use a mattifying moisturiser, a mattifying primer and I also set the foundation with a translucent powder (you see I am not taking chances!).  I’d say I get a good 8hrs with that method and then my chin and nose start looking a bit faded. I do feel it fades rather naturally, so I have no issue with it only lasting 8hrs or so, BUT I am somebody that battles with sneezing and hayfever all day, so it may just be more wear and tear on my part. The foundation does transfer though, as anything I swipe against my face takes some of the foundation off.

We’re all into gluten free, sugar free and of course paraben free, so that’s always a plus with any of our cosmetic products (Okay I’m actually NOT into sugar and gluten free…let me just be real…lol)

The packaging looks more luxurious than it is. I thought it was a glass bottle, but it’s plastic which is fine. I’m just pointing out what all the fabulous YouTubers would make mention of, because apparently looks are a big deal! Even for your foundation bottle. lol. The dispenser is a pump dispenser and I quite like that as you can control how much product you need. I use 2 pumps and that’s enough for me without any wastage.

A burning question is: How does it work for oily skinned gals? I am VERY oily. Super oily. So I was very nervous about trying this foundation. I had visions of being able to fry an egg on my forehead after wearing this foundation. lol. On a cool day, after about 7 hours I had shine on my forehead, but it wasn’t like an oil slick. On a hotter day, standing in the hot sun, this time reduced to about 4 hours when I saw some shine starting to peep through. That’s not a deal breaker for me though…what are blotting papers for? Just to add, the shine was only on my forehead, I didn’t get shiny anywhere else.

Overall impression? This is a fabulous foundation at a great price! It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re int he market for a new foundation. In winter this is going to be my go too when my skin is a bit drier and can benefit from the more dewy type of foundation.

This foundation retails for R175 and is available exclusively at Dischem. Let me know if you plan to give it a try or if you’ve already tried it, what are your thoughts on it:) I’m a chatty gal, so I enjoy chatting in the comments 😉

Edited to add: If you’re new to foundation, don’t be shy to ask for a tester or let them apply in store. Go about your day and check the foundation after a few hours to see if you like how it wears. Once you’re happy, go back and make the purchase. I’ve wasted tons of cash buying on first test in store and getting home and realising the shade is awful!

What’s new on my bank statement?

I could say in my makeup bag, but seriously, it’s the bank statement that tells the sad, non fictional story of what you’ve spent on new goodies. I’ve gotten to the point where I just don’t even look at my bank account. Balance, schmalance right?

This is not a review post or information post on the products, just a light ‘what’s new’ post.

1. The LA Girl Pro Coverage HD High Definition Illuminating Foundation in the shade ‘Warm Beige’ (RSP R175)

WhatsApp Image 2017-03-07 at 8.36.22 AM

Does that name have to be so long? My goodness.

I think I first saw this foundation on Alexa Jayda’s channel last year some time and I knew I wanted to try it. When I found out it was coming to South Africa, I was ecstatic (and so was the rest of the beauty community). I asked the cosmetics assistant (??) at Dischem to please call me when it came in and she did. The problem was, I was sunburnt like hell, so could not test any foundation. I waited a week to fade a bit and then couldn’t resist anymore and got a bottle.

I think I got a shade slightly more tanned than I am (um maybe because I was tanned  when I tested it), but I find I don’t feel the need to bronze when I wear it, because it gives me a lovely tanned glow! A full review on this foundation will be coming soon, but *spoiler alert*…I really like it so far!

2. L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask (RSP R149)

WhatsApp Image 2017-03-10 at 12.50.11 PM

I’d seen this all over social media and again, the FOMO hit. I had a Takealot voucher, so I ordered it and it was delivered within 2 days. These masks come in 3 variants, namely, Detox, Pure and Glow (pictured above).

3. The Body Shop’s Vitamin C Glow revealing Liquid Peel (RSP R175)

Who influenced me to buy this item? I can’t even remember. I just realised all my broke girl problems would be over if I just got off social media. lol.

Anyways, so I popped into The Body Shop when they were running a promotion recently (I think it was 30% off selected items) and instead of making a purchase, the sales assistant kindly offered me a sample of each of the 2 peels to try before I bought. I guess she didn’t realise I’m not a girl that needs foreplay with makeup and beauty products, I’m an easy sell….but nevertheless, I took the samples and tried the Drops of Youth one out that night. The sale was ending on the Sunday, and without testing the Vitamin C peel, I just bought it, because:

A. I wasn’t that impressed with the Drops of Youth one, and

B. The Vitamin C one was cheaper.

However, I must say, I am so glad that I chose the Vitamin C peel…it’s amazing!

4. The Body Shop’s Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil

I had no intentions of buying a 2nd (or 3rd or 4th item), but the sound of a cleansing oil infused with Camomile just really appealed to me. I was so obsessed with the Dermalogica Precleanse, I wanted to see if this was a similar product seeing as I cannot really afford Dermalogica 😦 First impressions is that this removes my makeup, and especially mascara, brilliantly. On the downside, I think it burns my eyes. I’ll test it for a bit still and then do a review on it if you gals want.

5. Dr Pawpaw Tinted Peach Pink Balm (RSP R95)

This balm is apparently a worldwide favourite. Who knows where I saw that or why I think that, but when I saw it right there at the till point in Dischem, whispering ‘buy me please’, I could not resist. R95, a bit steep for a lip balm, but this promises to be useful for lips, cheeks and cosmetic finishing with a hint of tint and it’s fragrance free. I quite like the feeling on my lips, even after the tint is long gone. It is really moisturising.

6. Dove 100% Pure Cotton Makeup removing wipes (RSP R29,99)

Impulse purchase after watching Kathleen Lights talk about the 100 different types of makeup wipes she likes and owns. I stood there trying to decide between 4 different brands and eventually settled on this one.

Have you gals picked up any of these products before? If you’d like to see reviews on any of these, let me know in the comments below and I’ll be sure to do a post on it.

My top picks of 2016

Every beauty blogger and their cousin by now has uploaded a video or post with their ‘Best of Beauty 2016’, so I’m a bit late on the bus, but we’ll still get to the same destination….right?  Today I want to just share what some of my all time favourite products to use in 2016 were. I’ll try not to make this too long and will go in order of makeup application.

Best of Beauty 2016

Primer – My ride or die will always be the Benefit Porefessional pro balm. It’s glides onto my skin and fills my pores. The balm also mattifies my oily bits which I love. I’ve yet to find another primer that can compare to this one.

16174844_402300016778381_6565291819005301569_n

Foundation – I have’t used many different foundations as I’ve found 1 that you’ve seen on the blog before, the L’Oreal Infallible 24hr Matte foundation. I’m in the shade Golden Beige, though I think that’s my winter shade and I should try one shade darker now in Summer. This gives me a medium coverage with 1 layer and looks very natural on my skin, so much so that people sometimes don’t believe I’m wearing foundation. This foundation is for somebody with oily skin though, or it may look a little dry, but a good mist of setting spray can help with that. (Available at Dischem )

Face powder – After seeing a few good reviews, I got the Yardley loose translucent powder and I really like it. It’s very finely milled and it doesn’t crease my under eye area like other powders do. (Available at Clicks or Dischem)

Under eye concealer – I’ve seen many reviews on the Maybelline Age rewind concealer and I was praying it would come to South Africa, but it hasn’t. Thankfully I have a lovely cousin in the UK that said I could order goodies and when she comes to SA she’d bring it with her. I love this concealer. It’s not thick and it blends so well. My only issue is that I think the shade I got is a smidge too light for me, so I usually mix it with my other favourite concealer, from LA Girl (Pro HD concealer) that is a bit darker. (Available from Superdrug in the UK)

Eyehsadow primer – I loved the eyeshadow base from Essence. It’s affordable and it does the job.(Available at Clicks or Dischem)

Eyeshadow palette – This is a tough one as I love all of my palettes more than the next one at some point in time. Only because this was a dream come true, the Chocolate Bar palette from Too Faced has got to be my favourite palette for 2016. The shade selection is great and the quality of the eye shadow is amazing. I’ve said it in a previous post, there’s something in this palette for every type of gal…the ordinary gal and the glam gal ❤

Brow Pencil – I love the MAC brow pencils. They are creamy and blend in really well. Easy to smudge or wipe off if you need to fix a mistake. I just feel it gives such a natural fill to the brows. I wear the shade ‘Spiked’.

20160704_124718-01

Mascara – There is a clear winner for me, and that is the Benefit Roller Lash mascara. The Roller Lash doesn’t clump, it seperates and lengthens your lashes. It’s just the perfect formula and I will repurchase it over and over.

Blush – Again there is no other contender in this category for me, it’s the Benefit Dallas face powder. (I seem to have a little bit of a crush on Benefit products don’t I?) A bit of a blush/bronzer hybrid, but I just love the flush of colour it gives, with no shimmer and I think it just goes with every single makeup look. I don’t even have to think about it.

Highlighter – This one is difficult. I don’t think I’ve found THE HIGHLIGHTER yet that rocks my world. I was obsessed with my Colourpop one in the shade ‘Lunch money‘. Today I’m in love with the one from my NYX palette called ‘Ice Queen‘. So in 2016 I basically just grabbed whatever was close by…I love all my highlighters on different days.

Lip pencilsEssence lip pencils are my go too pencils in any shade. They are affordable and come in an array of colours. I don’t think they’re the most long wearing lip pencils out there, but I’m not too fussy about that. (Available at Clicks or Dischem)

15403519_1800190546899610_1591670830713012224_n1

Setting spray – My vote goes for the Me & Youth beauty spray (previously known as Beauty Fix). The ingredients, the lovely rose scent and the dewy look it gives my foundation just makes this a clear winner in my books. Apologies as I seem to have not included a picture of the new bottle and I don’t want to show a picture of the old packaging. Oi.  (Available on the Me&Youth website)

Lipstick – I’m not a big lipstick lover. I’m more a lipliner and gloss kind of gal. My most worn lipstick in winter was definitely from Gosh in the colour ‘Antique‘. Also a reached for lipstick was from Mac in the shade ‘Modesty‘. (Available at Edgars Stores)

img-20170118-wa0016

Lipgloss – Another winner from Essence, but sadly this gloss was part of the limited edition ‘All that Greys’ launch and mine is basically finished, so I have no idea what I’m going to do 😦 It’s a nudey pink gloss and paired over a plum lipliner is just amazing! Also paired with grey eyeshadow, it’s simply stunning. The scent is also really lovely. (Limited edition, so not available anymore)

20160729_163445-02

Hair – I discovered quite a few brands in 2016 and a brand called NAK definitely was the best shampoo and conditioner that I used. It left my hair feeling so clean, nourished and shiny, without it being oily. On the budget side, Aunt Jackie’s range from Clicks is a brand I fell in love with, especially for coloured gals with flyaway hair or knotty hair. The range is affordable and even has a flaxseed oil infused hair gel so it isn’t harsh or drying on the hair. (Available from RetailBox)

That concludes my ‘Best of 2016’ picks! I hope you enjoyed reading it and perhaps we loved some of the same things, or you’ve spotted something you’d like to try? Also if there was something you could not live without in 2016, please let me know below in the comments so I can look out for it ❤

PS I have NO idea why the quality of my picture is so bad. It’s fine until I upload it here. I haven’t had this issue before 😦 If anybody has advice, leave me a comment down below. I’ll try to play around with it and update the post.

Is anybody feeling Sili?

Somebody asked me if blogging was expensive and I said yes it is. You always want to keep up with the trends, review products and try to help your readers make informed decisions. That being said, what works for me, may not work for you and vice versa. Buying even budget brands like Essence and LA Girl tally up when you get to the cashier to pay for your goodies. So at some point I had to draw the line and be like, okay so there’s no Colourpop shipment coming in this week….no new brands, you’re broke…what now? One needs to start getting creative, recycle your makeup, expand your horizons and maybe explore different topics. If I could, I’d own every holiday edition makeup item, but I am not exactly sure where I am able to sell my kidney to make that happen.

Once in a while though, there’s a new trend or new item that takes the world by storm, that you just have to have, and you get the kidney buyers lined up to make it happen. The SiliSponge however is NOT that for me. The beauty pages and the internet is going crazy for the SiliSponge, but i just don’t see myself intrigued by it. I reckon if I feel my BeautyBlender does a good job with my foundation, why do I need one more item to clutter up my makeup space? Okay, so what is the SiliSponge?

silisponge-5291

It’s basically the equivalent of a bra insert/booster made of silicone. The SiliSponge doesn’t soak up any product, it’s easy to clean and apparently applies your foundation like a dream. Like I said, the internet is going nuts for this and as a result it’s sold out and restocked like crazy!

I just am not feeling this one…. what next? The heel of my shoe to contour? A chicken breast to highlight? If you go to YouTube you’ll find quite a few reviews on the SiliSponge already and even a comparison to the BeautyBlender, so search away if you’d like to see it in action and perhaps decide if this is something you want to try.

Will you be getting silly with the SiliSponge? Am I missing out?

PS Picture taken off the world wide web.

PSS If I have a blog post in the future titled: Wow I love my SiliSponge….throw a chicken breast at me please. ha ha

Gift ideas {Under R200}

I LOVE buying Christmas presents, but as the years have gone by and the family has grown, I find the budget is unfortunately getting smaller and smaller when it comes to Christmas gifts. I thought a gift guide would be nice to help you spot some gifts in different price ranges, this one being gifts under R200. I’m hoping to do one in a higher price range. Let me know if you’d like to see that?

pampering-gifts

I’ll be going from left to right.

  1. Golden wonder ballistic from Lush. This is a bath bomb that looks like a little present. If you shake it, it actually has a little bell inside so it rattles. Super cute and the kids love these. There are usually little stars in the middle as well, so when it fizzes and foams, there are these gorgeous stars floating in the water as well. I think they do dissolve if memory serves me correctly. These bath bombs have a wonderful citrus scent as they’re made with sweet orange, lime and congac oils.
  2. Also from Lush we have the Lemony Flutter hand cream. This is a lovely thick and moisturising cream that nourishes your hands, feet and any other dry areas you may have. I mostly use this to get my cuticles looking moisturised as they can get quite dry from my OCD hand washing habit that I have. This cream smells so lemony…it’s divine.
  3. Who doesn’t need slippers? I am always keen on a new pair of slippers and I love these ‘Novelty Band’ slippers from Woolworths. They look like cute and cuddly bunnies ❤
  4. As I mentioned, I have an unhealthy hand washing obsession and this causes me endless problems with dry hands. I love these combo gift sets from Woolworths and this is a White tea hand wash and lotion set. I have no idea what this smells like, as I haven’t used it, but the idea of white tea for some reason intrigues me.

edible-gifts

5. I spotted this Chilli Addict set at Woolworths and I told my husband that I have to have it! There are 5 bottles: Spicy Sriracha, Chipotle Jalapeno, Spicy Peri-Peri, Fiery Habanero and Ghost Chilli. Chillies are life? Chillies is life? Chilli is life? Well, you know what I mean. I can literally add chilli to everything, so I need to try these sauces.

6. So you know chillies and chocolate…life, right? You can NEVER go wrong with a box of Lindt chocolate. Never. These are currently on special at Clicks on a 3 for 2 promo. No reason to be gifting bad chocolate to people this Christmas! No excuses!

makeup-gifts

7. Wet n Wild’s Color Icon Eyeshadow in Walking on Eggshells is a winner for sure! Their eyeshadows are so soft and buttery and also really pigmented. I love my Comfort Zone palette as well from Wet n Wild, but didn’t include it here, as the trio’s are currently on a 3 for 2 promo at Clicks, so more bang for your buck!

8. We all know what a mission it is to store makeup brushes. I thought one of those travel roll up makeup bags was a great idea, but to open and close it all the time is a pain in the buttocks. I love The Petunia by Lilli Makeup Boxes. It has little compartments to seperate the different brushes (if you have OCD tendencies like that), so I think this is perfect for brush storage. I’ll be doing a review on this and another box soon once my order arrives. #EarlyBirthdayPressieForMe

9. LA Girl Beauty Brick Eyeshadow in Nude. If you follow my blog, you know that this palette is one of my absolute favourites. I cannot believe that a dupe for a certain well known palette, at this price, can be of such amazing quality!  These are available at Dischem.

10. Watching you tube videos you always see the ladies with these gorgeous brush holders behind them. Bedazzled, in gold, something pretty. When I look at my makeup space, I always wish that I had something cute to just add some pizzazz and prettiness to my space….enter these Glitter Holders from Nisa (Miss Belle Blushh herself). There are about 6 different designs and they are available for sale here. I cannot wait to add one or 2 to my makeup space. Wakeup, Makeup & Slay….hell yes!

homely-gifts

11. This Rose Gold round large candle holder from Clicks I think is gorgeous. Rose gold is the rage…well it has been for a while now, so I was drawn to this immediately. I just think it’s beautiful and it’s on the 3 for 2 promo at Clicks as well.

12. I’ve been loving Typo for a while now and I’ve been buying their ‘heat sensitive‘ coffee mugs as gifts for a few people. I don’t know…I just love the concept of your coffee cup changing colour and revealing writing once the coffee is in the cup. Sorry for the bad picture quality. This one changes from: ‘Size Matters’ to ‘Size Matters, Nobody Ever Orders a Small Coffee’. I think it makes a cool gift.

13. Another cute gift from Clicks is this Glass Jar filled with scented tea light candles. The Jar says: To Love Laughter and Happily Ever After. The jar can be used as a storage jar for the candles or a cookie jar, so it’s dual purpose. So cute.

I must apologise for the bad picture quality. I used a different photo editing app and after uploading and seeing the quality, I honestly didn’t feel like redoing everything. It took forever and a day to figure out how to get them as they are now….so I’m really sorry.

Well that’s it for my gift ideas under R200. Anything you have your eye on for yourself or a loved one? Do you have any budget gift ideas to share? If so, leave a comment below.
