March favourites!

20170407_114149-01.jpeg

Eeeekkk it’s been ages since I’ve done one of these posts, but I’ve really been loving the following products, so I just wanted to give them a well deserved shout out!

Nose Pore Strips (RSP R29,99)

After I took the combined favourite pictures, I couldn’t wait to use my last pore strip. I opened the pack and realised it was the charcoal one (as it says on the outside…Oi), so it’s the wrong pore strip in the top picture. Damn you cosmetic people for putting them all in shiny silver packaging! This charcoal one is great, but it has ripped my skin at the tips of my nostrils and it burns for a good 2 days thereafter. I’ve tried it about 3 times and each time is the same. So I discovered the Skin Strategy ones from Dischem (2nd picture above) and they are great. They work well, no ripping off of my skin or burning and they are the cheapest I’ve found! 10 strips for 30 bucks? Bargain of note! PS Am I the only one that is intrigued after using a pore strip? Every. Single. Time. Like I want to frame it….so gross I know. lol

Urban Decay Blackmail Vice Lipstick Palette (RSP R700)

This is literally my 4th child. Look at that colour selection ❤ Every single time I have done my makeup in the 2 months since receiving this, I have used it. This is one of the best purchases I have made makeup wise. I love mixing the colours and I find I’ve become bolder in terms of the colours I use on my lips. Usually I’m a nude lipstick kinda gal, but I’ve definitely been rocking pink and burgundy lips lately. Go me!

The brush it comes with is also excellent and offers precision for applying your lipstick. Also the mirror in this palette is amazing! I always wondered why YouTubers say: it has a good mirror. Now I know.

Okay, the bad news? This was a limited edition item, so I don’t think you can get it anymore. I am ETERNALLY grateful for an online friend that bought this when she spotted it as she knew how badly I wanted it and couriered it to PE for me. I paid for it, but I mean, it was a lot of effort on her part for somebody she’s never met ❤

Vichy Ideal Soleil Mattifying Corrective Care SPF 30 (RSP R285)

I recently wrote about 2 Vichy products here, where I confessed to having never used Vichy products before. This cream really impressed me as it’s non greasy, but provides hydration and has SPF 30 in it. I never wear anything with SPF on my face as I find it too greasy, but this is an ‘easy’ cream for my oily face. Also this mattifies the skin and I find it reduces the appearance of my pores.

The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel (RSP R170)

Last week I gushed about how fabulous this peel is, so it comes as no surprise that it’s included in my favourites and you can read more about it here.

Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Peach Kiss (RSP R47,95)

This is a tinted lipbalm, but I find it so moisurising on my lips and I love the subtle peach glossy sheen it provides to my lips. With some mascara and just this lipbalm, I feel like a million bucks 😉 I have about 3 of these floating around everywhere at home and in my bag.

Vichy Normaderm Cleansing Mattifying Foam (RSP R190)

I was so happy with the Vichy products I was using, that I went out and bought 2 of these cleansers and another product at the current Clicks Autumn Beauty Fair. This cleanser foams so nicely! You just need half a pump, maybe even less if your face isn’t as huge as mine and you cleanse away. The foam doesn’t disappear which I love. You can see it and feel it on your skin. It mattifies my skin without leaving my skin feeling dry at all. I’ve noticed breakout spots don’t stay around for long since I’ve started using the Normaderm range. I am so glad I went with my gut and got 2 of these even though I hadn’t tried it before.

Rimmel Brow This Way Argan Brow Gel Clear (RSP R89,95)

I bought this literally the day before the 3 for 2 promo started at Clicks. That’s what happens when you sneakily buy makeup while your husband is in Spar. #Karma. So bummed when I miss a 3 for 2 promo. Moving on…..

This gel is really nice and I like that it’s infused with argan oil. My brows are not crunchy or hard, they stay in place, but they are natural looking. I also love the brush on the wand. It’s small and precise for easy application of gel onto your brows.

My only con on this would be that it’s a bit pricey for ‘drugstore’ considering it’s only 5mls of product, vs half the price for 8.5mls of another brand. I’ll see how long it lasts me and then I’ll decide if it’s a deal breaker for a repurchase. These come in a few shade options as well.

That’s it for my March favourites! Have you tried any of these? What have you been loving lately in terms of skin care or makeup products?

{Review} The Body Shop

I’ve always been a fan of the Body shop’s body butters and scrubs, but other than that I’ve never really purchased much at the store. About 2 months ago I popped into the store and they were having a promotion on so I decided to pick up the Vitamin C liquid Peel and the Camomile Cleansing Oil.

20170402_123238-01

The Vitamin C Glow Revealing Liquid Peel (RSP R170) specifically targets pollutants that are left sitting on the skin at the end of the day. Transforming gel-to-peel technology traps and gently peels off impurities and dead skin cells to unveil healthy-looking skin

  • This transforming gel-to-peel texture peels away dull, tired skin for a happy healthy glow
  • The PH of the gel helps to release surface cells
  • Contains our most potent Camu Camu Berry

This has a runny gel consistency and you apply it to the skin and massage it into the skin for about 20 seconds. I put it onto a cotton pad, then onto my skin and I massage it, as I felt the fluid was really tacky and sticky on my hands where I pumped it in the first place. As you massage you’ll find that you start feeling little bits of skin sloughing off the surface, which may seem a bit strange at first…like am I going to look like Freddy Kruger after this???? I assure you, your skin will still be very much intact. lol.

My skin feels as smooth as a baby’s bottom after using this and I really feel that it releases a ‘glow’ for my skin that lasts a good 2 or 3 days.

A suggestion would just be to apply and massage in sections. Do cheeks, massage, then apply to nose and massage, etc.

The 2nd thing I picked up is the Camomile Silky Cleansing Oil (RSP R190). I have previously used the Dermalogica pre-cleanse and I thought it was amazing, but not quite in my budget, so I was hoping this was a similar product.

This oil feels like oil when you initially put it on your skin (but not like canola oil). I put it onto a cotton round and then wipe away all my makeup. It does a really good job in removing makeup and especially mascara. Also it leaves my skin feeling like it’s having a moisurising treatment before I wash my face. I personally can’t just use this and that’s it, as I feel I do still need wash my face afterwards to get the oily residue off. After a cleanse my skin feels really soft and moisturised and I think that’s due to the cleansing oil.

There is a con to this product though in that I HATE the dispenser. To get it onto my cotton round is a nightmare as it’s a pump dispenser so the oil goes all over. I find it best to do this at a basin and not sitting on my bed or I’ll have it on my duvet or my clothes. That aside though, it’s a terrific product.

16908452_1327544267288688_7835106815716098048_n

This picture was never meant to be posted on the blog, so forgive the bad quality, but I also purchased this shaving brush (RSP R135) and the Maca Root Shave cream (RSP R155) for my husband.  He absolutely LOVES it! He says a little goes a long way and he loves the brush to apply the cream. My husband needs to shave almost daily so he is very prone to razor burn and skin irritations and he finds this shaving cream to be really soothing for his sensitive skin. So I’d definitely recommend that next time you head to the body shop for yourself, pop one of these into the basket so they can also feel pampered….and to absolve you of any guilt in overspending. 😉

The Body Shop just launched the Drops of Light range that also includes a liquid peel, so I’d love to try that one as well. Have you tried any of their peels before? Are there any products from The Body Shop that you’re obsessed with that I have to try?

{Review} John Frieda Brilliant Brunette Range

About 2 months ago, Rubybox invited all their Ruby gals to apply to test some products from the John Frieda hair care range as part of their #BrilliantBrunette campaign.  I was lucky enough to be selected to test out the products and I received the Visibly Deeper shampoo and conditioner to try out.

WhatsApp Image 2017-03-24 at 11.57.10 AM

Note – I don’t know why my picture quality gets so bad when I upload to a blog post. If anybody has any ideas, please leave comments/suggestions below.

The packaging is this really vibrant chocolate brown tube and it’s 250ml of product per tube. The promise is to intensify deep, rich, lustrous tones while hydrating your hair. The visibly deeper range is also formulated with cocoa and evening primrose oil.

The shampoo is a gorgeous glistening chocolate brown colour and the scent is amazing. It’s just so pleasant to look at and smell. I literally want to bath in it. I usually take a few seconds in the shower to just stare at the shampoo in my hands. True story. The shampoo foams nicely, which I love to just make me feel like my hair is getting a deep clean. It also doesn’t leave my hair with that ‘stripped’ feeling as some shampoos do.

The conditioner is not the same colour as the shampoo, a bit lighter and a different texture, but that same amazing smell. This conditioner is really moisturising and hydrating to my hair and it is very needed as my hair is quite damaged at the moment. It feels like I haven’t rinsed the conditioner off properly, that’s how soft and silky my hair feels after I’ve rinsed it. Properly.

When I dry my hair I do feel that it is slightly oily? I don’t think oily is the right term, but then the next morning my hair is silky smooth with no trace of excess oil. I’m not sure if this just happens with my hair….but I find it intriguing.

I’ve been using this now for around 2 months and I would always describe my hair as dull and mousy brown. A few days ago I was looking in the mirror and I realised that my hair was actually so vibrant and a darker chocolate brown! I’m not claiming you can ditch the hair dye and this will change your hair colour immediately, but over time I definitely feel this is a lovely product to have, especially if you’re like me who never gets a chance to dye her hair. #MomLife and all you know?

The John Frieda range is available in many variants and is currently on promotion at Clicks. The shampoo and conditioner retail for R119 each.

I’ll post before and after pictures of my hair on social media as soon as I can get my hair into selfie mode. #MomLife and all…… ha ha

Have you tried anything in the John Frieda range before?

PS It really benefits you to be a Rubybox member as you can see, so definitely sign up so you too can try some of their products in future campaigns ❤

#TakeControl with Vichy {Review}

Vichy kindly sent me 2 of their products to trial and I must say, I was extremely excited about getting my hands on these specific products. They form part of their #TakeControl campaign. The aim? To provide skincare products that provide oil control without the dryness. You gals know I’m all over oil control products.

16938492_423785461296503_299432.jpgUntil recently I’ve really only cared about having the best makeup products, with little regard for the actual condition of my skin. So I’m embarrassed to say I’ve heard about Vichy, but never used their products. When I sent feelers out about the brand, I actually got quite a bit of positive feedback with people telling me they’ve been using their products for years! This made me really excited about trying out these products.

Vichy is a premium brand of skincare, bodycare, make-up, hair care and anti-aging products. Thermal spa water from the hot springs of the town of Vichy, France, is the only water source used in its formulations. Fancy stuff right?

First up is the Vichy Normaderm Aquagel Hydratant. The claim is skin balance, anti-oiliness and hydration. This product is suited to oily, combination and acne/blemish prone skin.

Normaderm

Included in its ingredients are:

  • Salicylic Acid which is beneficial in the treatment of acne, so I love the inclusion of this, because I do get the odd spot around that time of the month. This month that odd spot came and went really fast, so I was really impressed to see the Normaderm in action.
  • Another key ingredient is LHA which also has antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-fungal and anticomedogenic properties. The PH balance is similar to that of the skin, which means the skins natural balance is maintained.
  • The addition of Glycerin ensures that the skin retains water and also combats oiliness.
  • This is probably the most exciting ingredient, the Vichy Thermal Water. (Extract below, full article here )

What made—and continues to make—this mineralizing thermal water so sought-after, is its unique content of 15 skin-strengthening minerals, including iron, potassium, calcium, and manganese. These minerals are gathered as rainwater jets through the magmatic volcanic rock, over 4,000 meters under the earth’s surface! While most mists and thermal waters simply soothe the skin, Vichy’s mineralizing thermal water from the French volcanoes takes it even further, not only soothing the skin, but helps protect it against external aggressors like pollutants and weather. This diverse blend of rare minerals possesses proven fortifying, antioxidant benefits to the skin. Additionally, unlike its counterparts, Vichy’s water helps to rebalance pH, creating a buffer effect that reinforces the skin against these aggressors.

I seriously need to arrange a bath inside that French volcano! Does it not just sound divine? The fountain of youth kind of vibe!

This also acts as a treatment product, as Vichy claims after 4 weeks there’s:
• Decrease of visible shine
• Reduction of pore visibility
• Skin is less prone to re-oiling during the day

Gals, I honestly adore this product. The formula is, as the name suggests, a clear gel formulation. It glides onto my skin leaving no oily residue or stickiness, but leaves me with a really healthy glow. My skin feels hydrated, really hydrated.I will report back after a month or 2 to see if the 4 week claims are indeed valid.

The second product I was sent is the the Ideal Soleil Mattifying corrective care cream. This is a triple action cream that targets blemishes, pores and mattifies the skin. This contains an SPF 30 and that fabulous thermal water mentioned above.

Untitled 2

This has a runny sunblock cream sort of texture. Usually anything with an SPF I usually hate putting onto my skin, because with SPF comes grease (well at least that’s how I feel). Not the case with this cream. When you apply it, there’s not a hint of oil and you can actually feel (by touch) how it immediately mattifies the skin, but the skin does not look dull at all, there’s still a healthy glow. SAY WHAT? I know…impressive stuff ❤ The cream is very light and it absorbs really fast. Incredibly fast actually. I immediately noticed that my pores appear smaller/less visible after using these 2 products.

I test this regularly on no makeup days and I usually survive about 6 hours with no oil. I know you gals are sick of reading this, but I am REALLY oily and I can sweat really fast. At work I’m walking stairs all day (19 of them one way…yes I counted) so I am really testing these products out to the max. Perhaps with less activity and sweating action you may be matte for longer than I am.

These products are honestly amazing. Coupled with my new favourite exfoliator (more on that in another post) at the moment, my skin is glowing. I recently went to a snooty makeup counter where the lady did not look like she wanted to assist me. Eventually she started working on my skin and she commented that my skin felt amazing and she didn’t need to apply a smoothing primer like she thought she would need to. A colleague asked me specifically what was on my bare face when I returned to work after my kids had been sick. Tired, 30 something old mom….and she had no idea I had started using these products just a week before that day. The proof is in the pudding…on the face of the pudding! I’ve been using it for about 3 weeks now, but I will have an updated post after a month or 2 to see if it did assist with any of my blemishes.

Clicks has recently started the Autumn beauty fair so they have a Vichy promotion running.  I would definitely purchase these products with my own money.

Note: Even though these products were sent to me, all opinions are my own and honest.

Have any of you tried Vichy products before? I definitely want to add to what I have, so please hit me with your favourites/must haves in the comment section below.

{Review} LA Girl Pro Coverage HD Illuminating Foundation

Was that  a mouthful or what? Yikes.

So this foundation really doesn’t need much of an introduction. LA Girl has a cult following and us SA girls were beyond excited when we found out it’d hit our shores mid February 2017.

WhatsApp Image 2017-03-07 at 8.36.22 AM

I’m fairly okay with matching my own foundation now, so I popped in to Dischem and saw all of the testers. What’s great is that there is a huge selection of shades, around 16 shades I think. I tried 2 and thought that the shade ‘Warm Beige’ was a good match for me.

What does it claim?

  • It’s ideal for a flawless looking, full coverage finish.
  • Lightweight formula is comfortable for all day wear.
  • Paraben free formula with added anti-oxidants helps hydrate and improve the skin’s appearance.
  • An innovative white foundation mixer to adjust and customize color.

So it is any good?

It applies really nicely onto the skin. I have used a brush and a damp beauty sponge. Both times my skin has had a dewy look to it, very healthy and natural. I’m not a full coverage kind of gal, so I prefer the more sheer look I get with a damp beauty sponge and I also only apply one layer of foundation. Personally I’d say this gives a medium coverage, though I’m sure it’s buildable.

The formula is incredibly lightweight and it feels like there’s nothing on my skin. Gone are the days of having your face feeling like there are layers upon layers of foundation on your skin!

Does it last all day? Firstly I use a mattifying moisturiser, a mattifying primer and I also set the foundation with a translucent powder (you see I am not taking chances!).  I’d say I get a good 8hrs with that method and then my chin and nose start looking a bit faded. I do feel it fades rather naturally, so I have no issue with it only lasting 8hrs or so, BUT I am somebody that battles with sneezing and hayfever all day, so it may just be more wear and tear on my part. The foundation does transfer though, as anything I swipe against my face takes some of the foundation off.

We’re all into gluten free, sugar free and of course paraben free, so that’s always a plus with any of our cosmetic products (Okay I’m actually NOT into sugar and gluten free…let me just be real…lol)

The packaging looks more luxurious than it is. I thought it was a glass bottle, but it’s plastic which is fine. I’m just pointing out what all the fabulous YouTubers would make mention of, because apparently looks are a big deal! Even for your foundation bottle. lol. The dispenser is a pump dispenser and I quite like that as you can control how much product you need. I use 2 pumps and that’s enough for me without any wastage.

A burning question is: How does it work for oily skinned gals? I am VERY oily. Super oily. So I was very nervous about trying this foundation. I had visions of being able to fry an egg on my forehead after wearing this foundation. lol. On a cool day, after about 7 hours I had shine on my forehead, but it wasn’t like an oil slick. On a hotter day, standing in the hot sun, this time reduced to about 4 hours when I saw some shine starting to peep through. That’s not a deal breaker for me though…what are blotting papers for? Just to add, the shine was only on my forehead, I didn’t get shiny anywhere else.

Overall impression? This is a fabulous foundation at a great price! It’s definitely worth checking out if you’re int he market for a new foundation. In winter this is going to be my go too when my skin is a bit drier and can benefit from the more dewy type of foundation.

This foundation retails for R175 and is available exclusively at Dischem. Let me know if you plan to give it a try or if you’ve already tried it, what are your thoughts on it:) I’m a chatty gal, so I enjoy chatting in the comments 😉

Edited to add: If you’re new to foundation, don’t be shy to ask for a tester or let them apply in store. Go about your day and check the foundation after a few hours to see if you like how it wears. Once you’re happy, go back and make the purchase. I’ve wasted tons of cash buying on first test in store and getting home and realising the shade is awful!

Clinique Pep-Start range {Review}

Wow, can you hear the echo in here? Where have you been Simone?? Well, life happens…offices get petrol bombed. Okay, not really, but my office building did. I do most of my blogging and even my pictures from my office during my lunchtime (of course 😉 ), so without access to my office for 2 weeks now, I’ve just been on a bit of a go slow.

I have loads of post ideas and plans for the blog, but right now, I just don’t have the time to take my photographs that I need and also I’m waiting on a few deliveries for product reviews. Do people not realise if you order now or get notified you’re being sent something, it should appear by tomorrow? Go figure….

16124297_383903081987528_8374425352268677120_n

Today I wanted to chat to you about the Clinique Pep- Start range. I was quite excited when I spotted the Hydroblur moisturiser in some glossy magazine. It’s probably the only product I saw, because I’m sure 3 seconds after I opened the cover of said magazine, one of my gazillion kids came to destroy my peace…..but anyways, my kids are a post for another day. So walking through Edgars in December, I spotted the moisturiser and I did let out a bit of a whoop. As luck would have it, the moisturiser came in a set that contained 3 products in total and I had to have it. Januworry what?

Pep-Start™ HydroBlur Moisturizer (50ml)

During December the struggle is real when you have an oily t-zone, so I’ve been on the lookout for an oil-free moisturiser for a while now. Not only is this one oil-free, but it promises to instantly blur imperfections (pores and fine lines) while providing all-day hydration. The HydroBlur also promises to give your skin a matte finish. Another benefit   is that you can also use this as a primer under your makeup or just as is, on makeup free days.

Does it do what it claims to do? I love the texture of this moisturiser. It’s lightweight and glides onto my skin easily. It’s not a cream and it’s not silicone, it looks like gel but isn’t sticky? (Sorry I’m still learning to describe things) Does it blur my pores? Very slightly it does, but I have huge pores, so it could be that there is no product in the world able to deal with all of this *outlines face*. I find on very hot days I do have shine peeping out around midday on my forehead, so it does not mattify my skin all day. It does however go on really smoothly and I find it does create this smooth canvas for my makeup, though I do still use a primer on top of it. Another thing is that I’ve worn this as is on no makeup days and I’ve had people out of nowhere tell me my skin looks good and refreshed. Lastly there is no scent, which is great as scented products always have my hayfever going crazy.

I am very happy with this moisuriser, even if it doesn’t do absolutely everything it claims to do. In Summer this is a winner for an oily gal like myself.

Pep-Start™ Eye Cream (7ml)

Being a mom of 3, I don’t have to tell you, but I always have puffy and tired looking under eyes, so I was quite excited to try this out.

What is it supposed to do? Just 3 seconds to look wide awake, refreshed. Hydrates, brightens, perks you up. Its cool touch and de-puffing tip help keep eyes looking fresh. Smooths the way for makeup, too. Have it on hand. Ophthalmologist Tested.

Does it do what it claims to do? Firstly it has the same non-existent scent that the moisturiser has. It’s very lightweight and glides on. A little goes a long way, so even though this is only 7ml, I’ve used it quite a few times and there’s still some left. I do feel that it smooths out my undereye area and hydrates it without being a heavy thick creamy sort of eye cream. I also find that under my makeup, it looks good and minimises the creasing. Wide awake? Once I get more sleep, I’ll get back to you on this one. This was a lovely find, though I don’t remember to use it all that often. #MomLife

Pep-Start™ 2-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser (30ml)

Exfoliating, but not exfoliating is a thing now. Huh? Apparently those rough huge beads we’d try to dig into our skin to exfoliate was not the best thing. We can exfoliate, but it needs to be gentler and finer on our skins. So I was anxious to see what the texture of this was, because I’m all about no big exfoliating beads.

What is is supposed to do? By combining gentle cleansing with exfoliating power, this 2-in-1 formula takes away dirt, dulling dead skin cells, excess oil and impurities to give skin a smooth finish and a radiant glow. Preps skin for makeup. It is gentle enough to use twice a day.

Does it do what it claims to do? I really like this exfoliator. The beads are so super fine, you barely know it’s there. It doesn’t tug at the skin or irritate it. My skin doesn’t feel tight after using it, it feels clean and refreshed. I do believe the claim that you can use it twice a day, as it’s not harsh at all. There’s also no scent to this product, so yay, no sneezing.

This pack retailed for R395, but on the day I bought it there was a 25% off deal so I paid around R295, which I think is a steal for all these products.

Have you tried this range yet? Or anything else from Clinique that you either loved or hated?

Shopping with Pink Cosmetics {International brands}

I first came across Pink Cosmetics after I joined a beauty page on Facebook. I was intrigued, because I LOVE the colour pink! So already I knew this was a website after my own pink heart ❤ Pink Cosmetics is owned by Janet, who is a qualified beautician. She makes the most GORGEOUS bath bombs, soaps and hair products, amongst other things. PINK stands for: Perfectly Inspired by Nature’s Knowledge, so with this knowledge, she ensures that her products are paraben, sulphate and petro chemical free!

All this is obviously great right? But it gets even better….Janet is an importer of international makeup brands as well! Most brand you can think of, she stocks. Needless to say she’s a very popular lady on the group. She’s also known to go the extra mile with speedy deliveries and sometimes a little extra goodie in the package which is appreciated. A LOT.

In December last year Janet was advertising the Tartelette In Bloom palette on the group and I was smitten. I went and researched it, stalked it online, looked at swatches….I was in love. I fell hook, line and sinker. The only problem is I had treated myself to way more birthday presents than I told my husband about….lol…so I could not justify the purchase. Every once in a while I went to peep at the link, and that darn palette was still there.

20170112_135607-01.jpeg

I was watching the Kathleen Lights ‘Best of beauty 2016’ upload and this palette made the cut. I was even more smitten….if that’s possible. If Kathleen loved it, I HAD to have it! Sometime at the beginning of January I think, I must have been drunk and went and drunk dialled the palette on the link….declaring my undying love and telling it how I just could not forget about what we never had. Janet messaged me and said she had the palette in stock and and and…… it didn’t take much convincing, throw in free shipping and a deal I could not refuse, I told her to invoice me.

20170111_154458-01.jpeg

It arrived shortly after she opened for business in January and I was so surprised to see an extra little goodie for me on top of the excellent service! The SLMissglam beauty sponge ❤

The palette….the packaging feels luxurious and sturdy and it looks very high end with the gold and shades of pinks and purples on the outside. When you open the palette it has the faint smell of chocolate, very much reminiscent of the Too Faced chocolate bar palette that I chatted about here. It has a large mirror which I quite like. There are 12 shades, 3 shimmers and 9 matte shades. These matte shades are so smooth and soft…almost satiny. Definitely not dry and chalky like some mattes can be. The shades are also nicely pigmented. This palette was definitely money well spent ❤

712-alt-2

Image taken off the Tarte website.

I’ll give you a quick rundown of the shades row by row, left to right:

Charmer – a matte vanilla shade

Jetsetter – a matte milk chocolate brown

Rocker – A taupey shimmer? This may be my favourite colour in the palette

Smokeshow – A cool toned matte dark chocolate brown colour

Flower child – A cream matte shade

Smarty pants – Shoot how do I describe this one? A matte caramel shade?

Firecracker – I’m a shimmer ho…I won’t lie. This gorgeous bronzey copper shade is so divine!

Activist – Also a dark chocolate brown matte shade, but slightly warmer toned than Smokeshow

Funny girl – A shimmery champagne shade

Sweetheart- Gorgeous matte pinky peach shade

Rebel – A matte terracotta shade?

Leader – This is also a brown matte shade when swatched, but it has brick red kind of undertones.

This is such a versatile palette and you literally don’t need anything else. You can do day time looks, natural neutral looks, more glammed night time looks with a smokey eye. Literally anything. I really love this palette and I have a feeling it’s going to be my favourite for a while ❤

sponge_grande

I’ve had a chance to try the sponge out and I really like it as well. It’s very soft and swells a lot when wet. It blends my foundation nicely. You’ll notice it also has the smaller flat part at the tip which is great for your under-eye concealer and powder.

So gals, that was my experience with Pink Cosmetics (I believe a name change may be on the cards). If you’re looking to shop for international brands, and you’re scared because so many people are selling FAKE MAKEUP, rest assured, you can shop with confidence on Janet’s website ❤

Do you own the In Bloom palette? I’m dying to try the shape tape concealer next! I believe it’s the holy grail of concealers. Have you tried any Tarte products?
